Unique VAT Advisory and Business Development Opportunity

A leading national advisory firm is seeking an experienced VAT specialist to join its expanding Indirect Tax team in a newly created advisory and business development focused position. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical VAT expertise with relationship building, commercial thinking and the pursuit of high value advisory work.

This is a rare chance to step into a role that blends front line client advisory responsibilities with a strategic remit to help drive the firm's growth in VAT and broader indirect tax services. The successful individual will work closely with senior leadership to shape market-facing initiatives and win new work across multiple VAT sensitive sectors.

The Opportunity

* A senior position with a strong emphasis on cultivating new relationships, shaping advisory opportunities and influencing commercial strategy
* Direct involvement in developing and executing VAT growth initiatives in collaboration with Partners, the business development team and the wider firm
* Responsibility for identifying target clients, progressing opportunities and helping to secure profitable, long term relationships
* A varied advisory portfolio covering complex VAT issues, international expansion questions, HMRC disputes, due diligence and specialist reviews
* The chance to convert initial client conversations into profitable advisory projects and deliver high impact solutions
* Scope to contribute to thought leadership, marketing initiatives and pitch activity to reinforce the firm's VAT advisory profile
* A people leadership element including guiding junior team members and supporting their development

What the Firm Is Looking For

* Extensive experience in VAT advisory work within a professional services environment
* A proven track record in winning VAT projects or clients and delivering successful business development initiatives
* Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify, shape and progress advisory opportunities
* The confidence to build relationships quickly and communicate complex VAT issues to both technical and non technical audiences
* Experience managing a client portfolio profitably and delivering high quality written advice
* Strong attention to detail when reviewing legislation, case law and technical documentation
* Professional qualifications such as ACA, CA or CTA are helpful but not essential
