Personal Tax Senior – Stockport
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

Clark Wood is pleased to be working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Stockport, who are seeking a confident and experienced Personal Tax Senior to join their thriving tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a personal tax specialist looking to take on more responsibility within a well-established and supportive firm that values professional development and exceptional client service.
Role Overview
As a Personal Tax Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, landlords, and company directors. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance work while also contributing to advisory and planning projects as your experience allows.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns for a broad range of personal tax clients
Handling queries relating to capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residency, and other personal tax matters
Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing excellent service and tailored advice
Assisting senior managers and partners with tax planning and advisory projects
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with internal deadlines and HMRC requirements
Candidate Profile
ATT qualified or qualified by experience; CTA qualification is a bonus but not essential
Strong background in personal tax compliance, ideally within a UK practice environment
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
Confident managing your own portfolio and reviewing the work of others
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
