Manager - Private Client Tax
A top tier accounting firm is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join their team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take ownership of a diverse portfolio and lead the delivery of high-quality personal tax advisory services.
The Role
You'll be working closely with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and partnerships, providing expert guidance on complex tax matters. As a key member of the team, you'll also mentor junior staff, contribute to business development, and help shape internal processes for greater efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of 150-200 clients with varied and complex tax affairs.
* Leading advisory projects and producing high-quality written reports.
* Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and their professional advisors.
* Overseeing UK tax return filings and capital gains tax matters.
* Supporting senior leadership in winning new work and improving team operations.
* Coaching and developing junior team members, including technical and soft skills training.
About You
* ATT and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with strong technical expertise in private client tax.
* Proven experience advising on a wide range of tax issues including IHT planning, trusts, and anti-avoidance legislation.
* Confident communicator with the ability to simplify complex tax matters for non-experts.
* Experience managing and reviewing the work of others, with a collaborative leadership style.
* Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client engagement and internal efficiency.
Desirable Experience:
* Working with UK and non-UK domiciled clients, including non-resident trusts.
* Advising property-owning clients using corporate structures and trusts.
* Handling HMRC enquiries and negotiations.
* Delivering presentations and contributing to pitches and proposals.
