BLT are delighted to bring to the market this exciting role with one of the UK’s premier public sector institutions. This role requires deep knowledge and experience of UK VAT practicalities and technical considerations as it impacts their sector, and the ability to take a lead on designing and implementing the strategy for the organisation.
Your role will include:
● Acting as the specialist technical resource for the organisation.
● Leading the tax team in compliance matters, including adherence to all relevant legislation and ensuring timely return submission.
● Maintaining and developing the relationship with HMRC as well as with finance and tax colleagues.
● Supervising the work of a Tax Assistant.
● Review and improvement of procedures and processes, including active involvement in effective ERP configuration and roll-out.
● Keep abreast of changes in VAT legislation, identifying where these impact the organisation.
You’ll be joining a friendly, relaxed and supportive finance function, where there’s plenty of complex VAT issues to get your teeth into. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with colleagues on ensuring personal, corporate, and overseas tax considerations are managed effectively (no experience necessary and great to expand your skill set).
