Stamp Duty - Financial Services Transactions

Our client's financial services stamp duty team is exceptionally well regarded and is offering an exciting, client facing opportunity for someone at Senior Manager level.

This offering is an interesting opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing sectors within the Financial Services industry. This specialism is central to global investment management and our client is committed to making significant investments in expanding their expertise.

This team works with the world's leading investment managers across both traditional and alternative sectors, offering the successful candidate the chance to develop and broaden their knowledge and skill set. Clients include large asset managers, hedge funds, institutional investors and custodians. Building long-term relationships and providing trusted advisory services are key to success in this sector. Working closely with senior leaders within the team will provide you with invaluable opportunities to develop your own professional network and expertise.

The team consists of a well-established group of tax specialists working exclusively with investment managers. With collaboration across audit, regulatory and consulting experts in the UK, as well as professionals in over 75 countries within the global network, the team provides comprehensive compliance and advisory services to clients. They support clients in the development of products, advise on fund structuring, and ensure compliance with all reporting, filing, and regulatory obligations with the relevant authorities.

The opportunity

Senior Managers play a key role in fostering strong client relationships and ensuring the efficient delivery of tax advisory and compliance services.

At this level, you will apply your professional expertise and commercial awareness to provide valuable insights and support to clients. You will take ownership of key elements of client relationships and proactively identify tax issues and business development opportunities through your market knowledge and professional network.

You will be a strong team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and expertise while continuously developing technical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Developing and maintaining client relationships, including cultivating referrals from other parts of the UK and global business.
* Supporting senior team members in delivering UK Stamp Duty and Global Financial Transactions Tax compliance and advisory services.
* Preparing and reviewing tax technical advice on the implications of fund mergers and rationalisations.
* Coordinating multi-jurisdictional financial transaction tax advisory projects for asset managers and fund administrators.
* Managing, developing, and overseeing financial transaction tax technology solutions.
* Ensuring adherence to risk procedures and financial oversight on engagements.
* Contributing to client events and team-wide initiatives.

Essential skills:

* Strong understanding of UK Stamp Duty and SDRT legislation.
* Good working knowledge of global financial transaction tax regimes.
* Familiarity with typical fund structures.
* A desire and motivation to advance your career in financial services.
* Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and projects while mentoring junior staff.
* Strong communication and written skills.
* Ability to work closely with clients, applying commercial and practical insights to technical work.
* A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
* A willingness to take on new challenges and stretch your capabilities.

Desirable:

* ACA/CTA qualification (preferred but not required)
* Tax lawyers will be considered
