Hays is delighted to continue partnering with a long-standing and highly-reputable, independent firm of Chartered Accountants to recruit for a Tax Assistant.This firm has an enviable and loyal client base inclusive of agriculture, tourism, retail, hospitality and medical industries as well as landed estates and high-net-worth individuals. They offer extensive services, including Tax, Bookkeeping, Accounts, Audit, Payroll and IT Consultancy as well as Wealth Management. This firm prides itself on its quality of service, fundamentally achieved by its brilliant staff training, development and progression offerings. In this instance, there is a real opportunity to progress to Tax Manger should you desire.

Your new role
Joining a growing and strong Tax Team, you will work on an array of clients in relation to their tax obligations and planning. This will involve the preparation, review and submission of corporate and personal tax returns, and advising companies and individuals on their tax liabilities. You will liaise with HMRC when required and regularly communicate with clients, ensuring a responsive and high-quality service is achieved. You will complete research for planning purposes, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have gained experience of delivering accurate and timely tax compliance work, in a general practice capacity. Ideally, this will be supported by studying towards a relevant qualification, ATT and/or CTA. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills with business acumen. For a driven and ambitious individual, this position could develop to the level of Manager right the way through to Partner.
