VAT Accountant – Manchester - £50k + Bonus + Benefits - Hybrid
Our client is a large international business based in Manchester, and we are seeking an experienced VAT Accountant. We are seeking applications from either someone with a strong VAT / Indirect tax background, or a more generalist accountant with a good knowledge of VAT. The role will work within a larger VAT team, and be responsible for undertaking the VAT compliance of numerous entities.
Responsibilities:
• Undertake Indirect tax compliance within the EMEA legal entities
• Produce VAT and other statistical returns and pre and post submission audit procedures
• Produce periodic VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales Listings
• Prepare periodic cashflow forecasts
• Reconcile and perform control checks to ensure VAT returns and statistical returns agree to the underlying accounting records
• Maintain the ERP system (SAP) for VAT, including making new entries in the tax tables, monitoring tax configurations, resolving system
errors, performing testing and approving configuration changes
The Person:
Some practical experience of producing VAT returns is essential along with strong Excel and communication skills. It is vital you can work as part of a committed and dynamic team and be able to work to deadlines.
