Group Tax Manager - Manchester (but fully remote)

This is a well-established UK business which is owned by a large multinational group, who are looking to recruit a Group Tax Manager on a remote basis. The company has an extensive operation throughout the UK, operating from several sites across the country and employing over 500 staff, turning over circa £150m p/a. The company works within the waste management and energy production sector, and partner with a range of private and public sector organisations across the UK.

Your new role
This is a fully remote role, and will see you cover direct and indirect tax compliance across the UK arm of the business and the wider international group.
Your typical roles and responsibilities will cover:

* Full cycle of direct and indirect tax compliance for the UK and Group entities.
* Preparation and filing of tax returns whilst developing systems for reporting.
* Liaising with HMRC and acting as a key point of contact for all tax enquiries.
* Collaborating with contract teams to ensure efficiencies with tax in bids.
* Oversee tax payments and optimise cash flow reporting.
* Communicating with the internal finance teams and the wider EU finance group.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, it is essential that you have gained your CTA qualification. The role will require you to handle all tax compliance from start to finish, so extensive compliance experience with direct taxes and VAT is essential. You will be proficient with IT tools, such as excel, word and ERP systems, including AlphaTax as the reporting tool. This role is open to candidates who are first-time movers, although existing industry experience is preferred within a UK or complex group organisation.

What you'll get in return
This role offers a competitive salary, up to £75,000-£80,000 for the right person, which is negotiable depending on your previous experience. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from home 100% of the time. This role covers tax compliance for a large UK business and a wider international group, and offers an interesting, broad-scoping workload.
