Your new role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Tax team and take control of the group's direct compliance processes including preparation of annual corporation tax working papers along with supporting returns.

This is a broad and varied role with significant scope for personal and professional development. In addition to corporation tax processes, the role holder will take responsibility for the preparation of annual tax reporting and forecasting schedules across REIT and non-REIT entities.

Prior experience of real-estate tax matters would be an advantage, but you will benefit from in-depth support and guidance throughout. You will work closely with an experienced Head of Tax and a wealth of wider tax experts to assist you in your professional and personal development.

This role would suit an individual looking to take on more responsibility within a supportive environment whilst at the same time benefiting from exposure to challenging tax technical matters and providing scope to get involved in work for other taxes such as VAT, CIS, PAYE, etc.

Key responsibilities include ensuring a gold-standard audit trail is maintained of all work performed to evidence the group's commitment to strong governance and control processes. Within this framework there is significant scope for the role holder to contribute to process enhancement and refinement - working closely within the wider team of finance professionals.

Familiarity of working with financial consolidation systems and advanced Excel workbooks will be a distinct advantage. The Ideal candidate will be personable with high attention to detail. Strong communication skills will also enable them to make a significant contribution within the department and our wider business.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Preparation of year-end tax reporting schedules for review by the Head of Tax
* Preparation of REIT tax forecasts
* Management of ad-hoc queries & transaction advice, utilising external and internal advice as required - triage all queries and resolve lower risk items directly where appropriate.
* Preparation of CT returns using Alphatax and underlying working papers:

* Management Expenses allocation
* Interest expense allocation
* Capital Gains
* Corporate Interest Restriction
* Capital Allowances

* Tax input to REIT and non-REIT Financial Statements
* Management of CT61 process, DTTPS and interaction with PID / dividend calculations
* Assistance with strategic tax advice and structuring alongside the Head of Tax and Tax Advisory Board
* Liaison with Group Finance, VAT Accountant and wider team
* Evaluate the impact of changes in regulations alongside the Head of Tax and carry out tax training to team members as and when required.
* Work with Finance Operations Manager and Financial Controller to develop and improve business systems and processes. Document these processes as part of a procedures manual which will need to be updated on a regular basis.

What you\'ll need to succeed

Required:

* Tax or financial qualification in a relevant field (CTA, ATT, ACA etc)
* Experience working with Corporation Tax, ideally within the Real Estate sector.
