A leading professional services firm is currently seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Technology Manager or Senior Manager in Indirect Tax. This position is available in multiple locations across the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham, and London.
The firm has experienced unprecedented growth and is looking for motivated individuals to support their Technology business and contribute to the Indirect Tax Reporting & Strategy group within their consulting division. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialized team, contribute to the growth and development of the Indirect Tax Technology practice, and receive support from the Tax Technology, Indirect Tax, and Tax Reporting & Strategy leadership teams.
As the Technology Manager or Senior Manager in Indirect Tax, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the team's capabilities in Customs reviews, implementations, and integrating indirect tax-related software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in Customs solutions, as well as a comprehensive understanding of other indirect tax systems.
Key responsibilities include:
* Implementing and conducting technical reviews of financial and logistics modules, including data extraction methods from these systems such as SAP GTS within S/4 Hana.
* Knowledge of Customs applications, Trade applications, indirect tax engines, indirect tax accounting (VAT and Duty), working with raw accounting data, advocating technology usage, strong data analytics skills, ability to read and critique SQL queries, data manipulation using various ETL tools and techniques, familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and visualisation software.
* Effective communication of tax, data, and technology concepts to non-specialists.
* Experience with multi-territory indirect tax compliance.
* Producing requirements documentation, conducting impact analysis and detailed design sessions with developers and business teams, creating and reviewing test cases, and providing project management support.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter with a strong passion for technology and the drive to excel. They will have proven experience and skills in the systems space, specifically in Customs solutions and other indirect tax systems. In addition, they should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to convey complex concepts to non-specialists, and a track record of producing requirements documentation, conducting impact analysis, and managing projects.
