Tax Advisory Specialist (FTSE-250, Insurance)

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in tax advisory, M&A transactions, and structuring? My client, a leading insurance group, is seeking a talented professional to join our team in a newly created position as a Tax Accountant.

Role Overview: In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the finance department, focusing on tax advisory matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and structuring. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management and various departments, to provide expert tax advice and support to facilitate strategic transactions and optimise the Group's tax position.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialist tax advice and guidance on M&A transactions, deals, and corporate restructurings.
• Conduct tax due diligence and identify potential tax risks and opportunities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of tax-efficient structures for business acquisitions and disposals.
• Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations and legislation.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on the Group's tax position and providing recommendations.
• Support the wider tax team in managing tax compliance, reporting, and tax audit activities.
• Work closely with finance, legal, and other internal departments to provide tax support and insights on business initiatives.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative tax planning opportunities and strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Significant experience in tax advisory, with a focus on M&A transactions, deals, and structuring.
• Proven experience in providing tax advice and support for complex corporate transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess tax risks and opportunities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Familiarity with financial services or insurance industry would be advantageous but not essential.
