Household media brand looking to recruit a qualified (or QBE) Tax Accountant to join the Tax team on a 12m FTC.

I'm currently working with a household media brand.. The Head of Tax is currently looking to recruit a qualified (or QBE) Tax Accountant to join their Tax team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis in London.

Reporting to the Head of UK Tax, you'll work closely with the Tax team on different ad hoc tax and finance project work, supporting the group with their Legal Entity Reduction project as well as assisting with the group relief reconciliations across c.100 companies.

Key responsibilities will include:

● Reconciling the group relief balances across several years between ERP balances, statutory accounts balances and tax computation balances.
● Ensuring the balances per the ledgers are correct, including liaising with off-system entities to ensure consolidation balances are correct.
● Liaising with the Treasury department to facilitate settlement of the balances.
● The group is currently embarking on a Legal Entity Rationalisation project - this role will be fundamental in supporting the project including identifying target companies for strike off.
● Identify and reconcile any historical balances for example intercompany debtors and creditors.
● Work alongside other business areas, such as treasury, group finance, pensions & properties to prepare the entities for strike off.
● Assisting with Corporation Tax submissions using AlphaTax.
● Assisting with the reconciliation of tax general ledger balances.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
● Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred) with ideally 2+ years post qualified experience. We are also happy to consider candidates who are qualified by experience.
● Strong understanding of tax group relief principles.
● Willingness and ability to travel across our offices (London and Manchester) when required, and to attend in-person meetings at either location.
● Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
● Strong MS Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and analyse data sets. Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
● Knowledge of/previous exposure to Oracle Fusion is preferable.
● Ability to prioritise when dealing with a high volume of information requests and queries.
● Be open to rapid change in business needs, processes and technologies.
● Inquisitive and able to elicit information from a diverse range of stakeholders on the critical priorities.
● Adept at resolving issues in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
● Passionate about delivering excellent service that is high in quality and efficient.
● Be calm and have clarity of thought when under pressure.
● Data-driven in the identification of opportunities and in your decisions.
● Comfortable working in a matrix organisation and a pragmatic decision maker.
● Comfortable taking well-informed risks to achieve business outcomes. Excellent negotiation skills.
● Have high levels of personal integrity when dealing with sensitive information and data.
● Responds quickly to refocus on what is required, checking in with manager regularly, when things are difficult.
