Interim VAT Manager Luxembourg

We are looking for a VAT Manager to be based in Luxembourg to work for a global organisation on a variety of VAT advisory work, to include: Transportation, Logistics, Customer Fulfilment and technology - as well as working on other areas such as self-billing.

You will work on projects, including implementation and project management as well as VAT advisory, including payment platforms

Primary duties include:

* Advising business partners and other stakeholders seeking to implement new initiatives (product and country expansions, automation projects)
* Researching advanced VAT issues, working with outside advisers as necessary
* Reviewing financial data for proper application of tax laws and advising on development and maintenance of systems which provide tax information required to be reported
* Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future European VAT laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions
* Specific deliverables include: external VAT analysis (with external tax advisors); tax requirement documents (project based); day to day business support

Basic qualifications:

* Degree in law or accounting - Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation preferred
* Extensive experience in VAT across either a public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry (6+ years)
* Good understanding of EU VAT law
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* English is the working language therefore fluency is required

* Another European language is a nice to have
* Excel and general computer skills is a nice to have
