Interim Tax Director (15 month FTC)

Exciting Interim Tax Director opportunity with a Technology organisation for a 15 month FTC. This is a varied position across Direct and Indirect Tax for compliance, reporting and advisory activities. Reporting into the Head of Tax, you will have 2 direct reports who will support with preparation of tax returns and provisions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Overall responsibility for UK tax compliance filings prepared by the internal tax team, encompassing Corporation Tax, VAT and limited Employment Tax filings (share scheme reporting and PSA filing). Provision of support to other junior team members as required.
* Responsible for UK & Ireland region cash tax forecasting and reporting, reporting directly to the Group cash management team.
* Tax lead for the outsourced R&D claim process, involving management of multiple workstreams across business lines, and ongoing communication with finance teams.
* Review of UK tax reporting within the global reporting tool (4-5 times per year). Provision of support to other junior team members as required.
* Providing UK tax advice to the business. This involves building relationships with the commercial teams, in order to give commercially considered and prompt tax advice in respect of global customer contracts, often in conjunction with the international mobility team.
* Input into UK ERP implementation programme - experience of tax transformation beneficial.
* Management of certain ongoing discussions with HMRC.
* Where possible, identify and implement process improvements across the compliance cycle, with a focus on readiness for MTD for corporation tax - experience of tax transformation beneficial.
* Supporting the Group Tax Team and global tax community on ad hoc projects and queries as required.

This can be a predominantly remote role, with 1 day per fortnight spent in the London office (or more if preferred!). Part-time candidates will be considered too.
