Tax Director (Property, Remote), to £120k

We are running a confidential search on behalf of a leading corporate services organisation that is experiencing rapid growth and actively acquiring new properties and clients. With an ever-expanding portfolio including more and more property organisations, my client is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as the Property Tax Team Leader.

This is a newly created position offering a competitive salary and full autonomy to build and grow a dedicated property tax function.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead a team specialising in property tax, responsible for managing all aspects of property tax compliance, planning, and strategy.
• Develop and implement tax policies and procedures specific to property tax, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
• Provide expert advice on property tax matters to internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
• Conduct thorough reviews of property tax assessments, identify opportunities for tax savings, and implement appropriate tax planning strategies.
• Stay abreast of changes in property tax laws, regulations, and industry practices, and communicate relevant updates to clients
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise tax planning opportunities and ensure alignment with overall corporate objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and industry peers to stay informed of best practices and trends.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in property tax, with a strong background in real estate taxation and related legislation.
• Relevant professional qualifications and certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) are highly desirable.
• Proven track record of leading and managing tax teams, preferably within a fast-paced and highly acquisitive organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of property tax compliance, planning, and strategies.
• Strong understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations, as well as emerging trends and developments in the field.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify tax planning opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
• Self-motivated and proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
