Accountabilities
* Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
* Responsible for all VAT matters related to the UK operations of the Bank.
* Preparation and submission of UK VAT returns including analysis of monthly business expenditure for VAT reporting purposes.
* Preparation of VAT returns for the bank (Ireland) DAC and provision of support to Senior Manager, Taxation in Dublin.
* Preparation of VAT content for Exco Reports.
* Settlement of VAT liabilities and cleardown of UK VAT account balances against the liability.
* Manage the VAT process to ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
* Provide AP team with guidance on VAT coding for invoices and expenses.
* Monitor and update Partial Exemption (PE) method. Manage process the ensure the method is updated when necessary.
* Responsible for preparation of the Annual Adjustment for VAT purposes and calculation of Capital Goods Scheme when applicable.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet attestation of VAT balances for review and sign off.
* Regular update of VAT processes and procedures.
* Liaising with Headquartered projects teams to ensure recovery of any UK VAT paid outside of the UK.
* Managing VAT consequences of the Research Services business
* Dealing with HMRC and Revenue Ireland enquiries as necessary.
* Provision of ad-hoc support to HR team on payroll tax related matters.
* Preparation of annual PSA submission to HMRC, making payments in line with statutory deadline and cost allocation to relevant business line.
* Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
