IPT Analyst

Job Title: Tax Specialist, Indirect Tax - IPT Analyst:

Location: London

Context of the role and company:

The Tax Department manages the tax affairs of the Corporation and provides support and assistance to the firm's Market on tax matters affecting the Market, including the filing of tax returns and payment of taxes. It also represents the interests of the firm's Market with UK and overseas tax authorities.

The Department consists of two main teams, Direct tax and Indirect Tax with sub-teams of tax specialism within them. The Indirect Tax team manage global VAT and premium tax compliance and reporting for the Corporation and the firm's market in addition to providing guidance and support to managing agents on the Indirect Tax implications of operating at the business.

Role Purpose:

To prepare premium tax returns for various jurisdictions worldwide and to assist the market with responsive support on premium tax queries.

Key Accountabilities:

* Compile data and prepare premium tax returns for a number of territories.
* Prepare market collection schedules.
* Prepare payment authorisations.
* Have and maintain a detailed knowledge of premium tax rules for the countries for which you administer taxes and a working knowledge for other countries
* Maintain internal IT systems used for gathering data to prepare tax returns
* Support maintenance of the companies Crystal and Risk Locator Tool to ensure the information being published is up to date and accurate
* Deal with telephone and email queries from managing agents, brokers and underwriters.

Key experience and skills:

* 1-2 years of premium tax compliance experience
* Basic knowledge of premium tax and the ability to develop knowledge of the firm's Market
