Their Financial Services practice is diverse and comprises Asset Management (which includes Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Funds), Banking and Insurance and is a dynamic and successful area of their business.
Your new role
Responsibilities:
* Maintain a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
* Work directly with the client to plan and understand the requirements at the start of each compliance cycle including potential visits to clients/local offices to ensure we use appropriate technology and resources to deliver a quality product on time.
* Identify and resolve technical issues, preparing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis.
* Group Reporting and Tax accounting disclosures (FRS101, FRS102, IFRS)
* If desired, the role offers the opportunity to get involved in tax advisory work to help build out your expertise and experience.
* Identify opportunities and any additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists.
* Working with the local Financial Services teams and specialists in their field, in addition to managing risk and overseeing a team
* Provide coaching and technical support for other team members.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications:
* They welcome applications from those qualified by experience, as well as ATT / CTA / ACA or equivalent qualifications.
Experience:
It is not a requirement to have specific Financial Services tax knowledge, but this would be desirable plus;
* Experience working with UK Tax is essential.
* Experience of specific technical areas including complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension scheme and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups; controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
* Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent teamwork and organisational skills, including monitoring timetables and budgets. Full support is provided for integration into the practice.
* They use Alphatax as the primary compliance deliverable tool. A background in another tax software solution will come with transferable skills and transition training will be provided.
