Outstanding R&D consultancy looking to recruit both a Tax Manager and Tax Consultant.
I'm working with an outstanding consultancy whose goal is to be the #1 provider for R&D tax relief advice in the UK. With a strong regional network the business is currently building on their solid foundations and are continually cementing their position as the pre-eminent provider of R&D tax advice in the UK.
They have aligned unmatched technical expertise with the specific needs of businesses to deliver superior advice - and results. They've built a team that can deliver complex specialist consultancy within their specialism to a broad range of businesses, from research intensive start ups to global enterprises.
It's the businesses mission to help innovative businesses grow using R&D tax incentives and they love the fact that they see first-hand the positive impact that R&D tax credits can have on a business. By working closely with their clients they uncover extra funds for their clients. That's cash to put towards the next big project, or the final push in creating something remarkable. Their work has created the equivalent of more than 10,000 technical jobs in the UK - circa £500m for their clients - a vital pathway for future talent in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.
The business has a clear vision of where they are heading and a plan for achieving it; they now need to hire experienced and passionate individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset that can help leverage this opportunity, inspire and lead their teams to success, and enable transformation within the business as it continues to grow.
As well as knowing what they want to achieve, they also know where they don't want to go. They don't want to ever become a 'traditional' firm, will never grow for the sake of it and they won't ever compromise on their values that they believe make the business special.
As a result the business is looking to recruit a number of individuals at both Manager and Consultant level. Their multi-disciplinary team is made up of chartered tax advisers, chartered accountants, tax lawyers, scientists, engineers, software developers and former HMRC inspectors. This offers their clients an unrivalled level of technical expertise.
They pride themselves on their unique culture. They are hungry for success, are lean and externally focused - and they don't have the hierarchy that is prevalent in so many professional service firms. Their work gives them a common purpose in which they all share and are proud to be part of. Five values underpin their culture:
These values were created by their people and reflect how they operate on a day to day basis, what they aspire to and how they do business.
As a Tax Manager, you'll act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of clients and partners - there to advise, assist and update them on all aspects of R&D tax incentives. You'll need to get to know the diverse client base inside and out, understanding the wider tax and commercial impact of the advice you give - both on your clients' businesses and on the industry.
You'll be a proponent for excellence in all that you do, helping them to lead the way on providing a pre-eminent and unmatched level of service. As well as bringing your experience in professional services and expertise in tax, they're looking for someone who can contribute to the broader vision for our future. That might be through helping to develop and mentor others, sharing your knowledge and helping the business to grow the next generation of R&D Specialists.
You'll also build relationships that help to further develop our business, and deliver true value for their clients. You'll need to be a commercially minded person with 2-3 years' post-qualification experience. You'll need to hold a relevant tax or accountancy qualification (CTA, ACA or equivalent), and have experience in tax (ideally corporate tax), but you don't need to know all the specifics of R&D already - that's something they can teach you. They're a fast-paced, award-winning business and they need great people to take them to new heights.
So, if you're ambitious, eager to collaborate, have an eye for an opportunity, and a commercial mindset, you could just be their perfect match.
As a Tax Consultant, you'll work collaboratively alongside the sector specialist, quality assurance and advisory practice teams to provide technically excellent R&D tax credit claims for your clients. Delivering technical reports and tax calculations and providing unmatched levels of client service and excellence in all that you do.
You'll get to know your clients' businesses and fully understand their R&D projects; making sure they receive an exceptional service and fully maximised claims. You'll be the first point of contact for your clients - there to advise, assist and update them at every stage of their claim journey.
To be a great Tax Consultant it's fair to say you'll need a good knowledge of tax. You will be fully qualified, in tax or accountancy, or have made significant progress towards being so (ideally CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), but you won't need to know all the specifics of R&D already - that's something they can teach you.
Most importantly, you'll be the kind of person who won't settle for being a cog in a machine but who's eager to take responsibility for their own work and who doesn't rest until their client has the best possible solution. As well as a solid communicator, you'll be driven, enthusiastic and thrive under pressure. And if you can add to all that excellent time management skills, you could be just the person they're looking for.
The firm offers a unique opportunity for people who want to work in an entrepreneurial environment where they can thrive and have a real impact. For those who want to break free of the traditional career structures of a professional services firm, they could be the perfect choice. In short:
* They value enthusiasm and personality. They want to be an employer of choice for talented, driven and client focused R&D professionals.
* They will always look for the very best to strengthen the team and bring new skills and ideas to their clients.
* They work hard to integrate all new hires to realise their potential.
So why not get in contact with me to find out more.
