ROLE: Tax Accountant
DURATION: 9-month FTC (with a view to going PERMANENT)
SALARY: up-to £55,000
LOCATION: London (2 days per week in the office)
THE ROLE:
An exciting role working for a UK head-quartered international group with a recognisable brand presence has come to the market. Due to their plans to increase headcount in tax this year, this is an excellent opportunity for candidates with some in-house experience OR candidates in practice looking to make their first move in-house.
As a Tax Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Tax to ensure the group and our brands meet all of our tax compliance and reporting requirements. The key aspect of this role is to lead on Indirect Tax/VAT, including support with the VAT returns. There will also be exposure to international tax matters and tax advisory work. Other areas of responsibility will be the completion of the UK corporation tax returns in-house and liaising with external advisors to ensure the international tax filing requirements are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Leading on indirect tax/VAT matters, supporting finance with any queries relating to the submission of VAT returns and other indirect tax filings group wide
* Assisting with the preparation and submission of the UK corporation tax returns and calculation of payments on account
* Assisting with the year and interim group reporting process including calculation of tax provisions
* Supporting the Head of Tax with the provision of tax advice for the business
* Supporting the Head of Tax with HMRC tax audits and ad-hoc queries from overseas fiscal authorities
* Building relationships with key internal stakeholders including Finance, Treasury and Legal and external stakeholders including HMRC, Auditors and Tax Advisors
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Strong expertise in Indirect Tax but also keen to gain further experience in other areas of tax including corporate tax.
* Expectation to be part qualified OR qualified by experience.
* Ability to organise and manage challenging priorities and collaborate with the wider finance team.
* Candidates with some in-house experience and candidates in practice looking to make their first move in-house welcome.
