A growing tax team have a growth position for someone with sales and business development experience to join their growing team. This role is primarily focused on helping to achieve their growth plans through leading the execution of sales and campaign activity in the market, and they are ideally looking for someone with some experience of selling tax services, but this is not a prerequisite.

To be successful you will be collaborative and client focused, with an ability to spot new opportunities. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys building client relationships and interpreting clients' issues to match them with the most appropriate solutions. Working alongside our specialists, you will gain a broad understanding of the key issues that our clients face and how we can help to address them with our market leading propositions. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for helping to plan and execute strategies for growing our service line penetration across accounts, so an ability to influence both internal senior stakeholders and clients is key. There will also be a new client acquisition aspect to this role, so you will also need to be tenacious and resilient to help open new client relationships and help us gain market share.

Responsibilities include:

* Drive market focused activity to strengthen our client relationships and deliver excellent client service across the sales cycle
* Develop a broad understanding of the business's key client issues and propositions
* Develop and execute an origination strategy for a specific business area to and work alongside our leadership to qualify and prioritise market activity
* Expand stakeholder relationships on existing client accounts by mapping key contacts across the business and helping to generate meetings with unknown contacts
* Work alongside our existing client service teams to nurture and grow relationships on high potential accounts, and identify most appropriate successors to lead accounts once relationships are established
* Work with client service teams to increase the number of services we provide to our existing clients
* Build a network across the business's service lines and leverage a broad range of experts to ensure clients receive the best possible service for their individual requirements
* Help to open up new relationships with businesses that are cold to the business
* Lead the activation of campaigns in the market, including helping to refine messaging and identify gaps in our service offerings based on clients' feedback and requirements
* Maintain a good understanding of relevant content and market activity and leverage insights to spot new opportunities
* Help to identify opportunities for the business to collaborate with the firm's other capabilities, Deal Advisory and Consulting, and help to drive and integrated approach in the market

Skills and experience required includes:

* An understanding of tax (any specialism)
* Ability to manage a large portfolio of client relationships
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A commercial outlook with a focus on results
* Strong influencer, including senior internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
* Good facilitation skills for client calls and meetings
* Team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to coach and develop others
