The role will include:
* Advise on strategic tax planning and efficient group restructuring.
* Advise on mergers, demergers, and acquisitions including due diligence reviews, tax structuring advice and post-transaction reorganisations.
* Monitor developments in legislation and regulations, communicating the effects of these developments to management and the tax team describing the implications for UK's business.
* Reporting to, and liaison with the tax department to assist in their international tax reporting requirements to the IRS, to help ensure that UK tax is correctly reflected in the group's reported results and to ensure that UK transactions are carried out to achieve desired US tax results
* Maintain and develop the group's transfer pricing policy, ensuring appropriate group and local country documentation is in place.
* Identify capital allowances/R&D opportunities
* Review preparation and submission of UK tax computations for LLPs and group companies.
* Review preparation of tax figures, including deferred tax, for the statutory accounts for UK group companies.
* Review payments, including dividends, to the US.
* Provide advice on skill gaps within the department
This role would suit an individual who is currently in a Group Tax role who is looking for a step up in responsibility.
