 An exciting position to lead a tax team within a Top 15 accounting firm in Reading. Our client has a strong focus upon the development and training of their team, all while working with a varied and engaging client base. 
 
 Your new role
 
 As a Tax Associate Director/Director working within our Reading office, you will contribute to the provision of an excellent range of tax services to a diverse set of clients. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate initiative and good judgement when carrying out tasks on the client's behalf, with the below key tasks being carried out. 
 
 * Developing strong relationships with a range of corporate clients and OMBs
 * Managing a diverse client portfolio
 * Preparing, reviewing and approving corporation tax returns and tax computations
 * Liaising with the General Practice Partners and with clients
 * Dealing with ad-hoc queries from the General Practice Partners and proactively recommending tax opportunities which may be relevant
 * Preparing/amending and/or approving letters and emails for the tax team
 * Assisting in dealing with enquiries raised by HMRC
 * Preparing other forms etc. as required by HMRC or other third parties
 * Developing the wider team, through technical excellence, soft skill development and on the job training
 * Monitoring chargeability on a weekly basis
 * Dealing with tax enquiries
 * Conducting technical research
 * Keeping up to date with legislative developments and changes in the tax landscape
 * Assisting with a variety of ad hoc work as it arises, such as; technical research, reorganisations, reconstructions, transfer pricing and R&D claims
 * Managing the ongoing Corporation tax services for the department
 What you'll need to succeed

 As well as the above you will ideally be CTA qualified. ACA/ACCA qualification would also be useful but not essential. You'll be confident, well organised and an excellent communicator. You'll have good IT & problem-solving skills as well as a thorough and methodical approach to work. You work well under pressure and can be adaptable to take on cases not specifically on your own allocation. You'll be able to lead and manage team members, as well as support their training and development.
