Location: Ayr Job Title: Tax Manager
Your new company
You will be working for a leading manufacturing business who have recently completed a successful acquisition which has doubled the turnover of the business to around the $1bn level. The company have operations in a number of countries including; UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Poland and Italy and are looking for a Tax manager look after the tax requirements (both direct and indirect) for all 15 legal entities. This is a great opportunity for a first mover and you will report directly into the Group Finance Director.
Your new role
Within this varied role you will be responsible for assisting external accounting firm in preparation of all required federal, state and local income tax returns. This includes preparation oversight of all required workpapers and review of completed returns. You will also work with external accounting firms and international accountants to prepare review year-end worldwide income tax provisions and prepare quarterly corporate tax provisions.
You will provide required data to third party accounting firm and Prepare Review annual intercompany transfer pricing studies and you will oversee preparation and filing of all sales & use tax returns.VAT returns with controlling or third party. You will also prepare monthly reconciliations of income tax and VAT accounts and research income tax and VAT issues and report on findings; provide recommendations on tax saving strategies to senior management. You will understand systems requirements related to income tax and VAT; monitor changes and assist internal business partners as needed on tax issues such as but not limited to; advise A/P, Purchasing and A/R departments as needed on sales & use tax issues.
You will research income tax and sales/use tax issues and report on findings; provide recommendations on tax saving strategies to senior management and coordinate the response of all tax-related correspondence from federal, state and local governments as well as overseeing all federal, state, and local income or sales & use tax audits.inquiries and audits for income tax and VAT.
Ideally you will have a grounding in statutory accounts and you will assist in month-end close process, assist in quarterly and year-end financial and internal control audits and assist internal business partners as needed on tax issues; advise Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Accounts Receivable departments as needed.
In addition you will have the opportunity to assist the group finance director in project work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in both taxation and statutory accountant and may well be making your fist move from practice. You will hold a professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, ACA, CTA or ATT and will be keen to undertake a varied and interesting role in a growing business.
