An exciting opportunity to join a leading FinTech company for a Tax Manager. This position will be located in Stockholm, Sweden.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
* Be a senior member of Klarna's growing head-office tax function, based in Sweden.
* You will be responsible for managing direct taxes for our Swedish companies and overseeing all companies on a global basis in order to understand and manage the global tax rate
* Be the go-to person on technical Swedish corporate tax issues and play a critical part in the decision-making process on anything from our many M&A deals or restructurings, through to new product assessment and approval
* Support accounting colleagues in the delivery of the tax numbers and disclosures in our Swedish and consolidated financial statements and ensure associated controls have been appropriately designed and implemented
* Review and authorize the submission of Swedish corporate tax returns. Where appropriate, develop (or help with the design of) and implement internal systems to compile information
* Maintain policies and procedures (with associated controls) governing the tax function and the management of tax risk within the wider organisation. Oversee their implementation.
* Identify, evaluate and assist (directly in the case of Swedish issues and indirectly on material overseas matters) in closing out tax risks on a timely basis
* Support the organization on financial statement audits from a tax perspective
* Lead Klarna's response to tax authority audits and disputes
* Manage the relationship with external tax service providers
* Prepare and present reports to executive management on tax matters
Qualifications & Experience:
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in verbal and written English
* Strong at working with multiple stakeholders and priortising numerous concurrent projects.
* Can demonstrate end to end ownership of complex projects with many stakeholders.
* Strong attention to detail and a strong bias toward action.
* A proactive team player who feels accountable for the full team delivery and contributes to a great team spirit.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment
* Good understanding of Swedish corporate income tax but also accounting and tax reporting
* Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters, with experience of the Financial Services industry and/or Technology sector is advantageous
* Advanced degree in Tax or Accounting preferred; Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Law required
