Tax Trainee/Tax Assistant
Our client is a niche firm of tax advisors based in Leeds City Centre. They seek a tax trainee or tax assistant for a mix of tax compliance and advisory work dealing with OMB clients and their owner managers.
This role would suit a graduate or school leaver who ideally has some accounting or tax experience – ideally you might be ATT qualified and looking for the opportunity to progress, would also consider someone who is currently in a general practice role and looking to specialise in tax. The right candidate will genuinely enjoy technical tax work and problem solving. There is study support for CTA (to become a Chartered Tax Advisor). In this role you will assist more senior colleagues with:
• The preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
• Dealing with queries from and negotiating with HMRC.
• Research and drafting advice for review advising on share-holder issues such as tax efficient benefits, MBO’s, joint ventures and transfers of businesses to the next generation.
• Transaction support including due diligence.
• All round corporate tax advice.
• Research and drafting of IHT and CGT advice for review.
• Advice on private client issues such as residence and domicile.
It is envisaged that you will work at least 3 days a week in the office – there is potential to work 2 days from home. This firm offers flexible working/flexi time. The office is 10 minutes from Leeds train station. There is plenty of scope for progression and study support available.
