An AIM Listed business based in London are sourcing for a Tax Governance & Controls Manager to join their tax team.

You will ideally be in a Big 4 team or an in-house role, with experience on designing and improving tax processes and tax control framework, you will ensure SOX and SAO compliance, as well as corporate criminal offence (CCO).

The role sits within the Tax team and focuses on the Governance and Transformation of Tax Processes across the business. The role covers the design and improvement of their tax processes and tax control framework.

Role responsibilities:

* Working with Tax Transformation to drive continuous process and control improvements through establishing a LEAN approach to drive effectiveness and efficiency
* Producing a Global Tax Process Framework, standardising and documenting processes for all tax types
* Designing effective tax controls based on key risks across the tax and broader business processes
* Establishing Tax governance structure
* Defining process performance metrics and to ensure these are delivered across end to end process
* Running the tax risk management processes (including RMCs) and provide input for both HMRC and Auditor reviews
* Working with Governance to implement and monitor a clear policy to ensure compliance with the Corporate Criminal Office and ensuring all new business arrangements are reviewed for compliance
* Ensuring clear SAO processes and timely delivery of certificates
* Working with Finance on UK SOX compliance
* Dealing with communication and queries from HMRC and other tax authorities relating to tax control and risk management
* Working with the business to understand and support any business initiatives and associated change impacts from requirements through to successful implementation to ensure compliance and appropriate risk management
* Supporting auditors with providing appropriate supporting documentation, if requested

You will have:

* An accounting qualification (preferably ACCA or ACA)
* Management experience in Tax FMCG/Big 4 advisory environment
* Experience with tax process and control transformation and improvement
* Strong understanding of the Tax Control Framework Guidelines and Anti-Facilitation of Tax Evasion guidance
* Strong functional knowledge and experience across Tax both direct and indirect, particularly in compliance
* Strong Financial process understanding and experience at an operational level in tax dept
* Experience with existing Governance methods, project management skills are desirable
* Proven ability to align multiple stakeholders
* Experience with data management/manipulation and technology/automation implementation is desirable
* Business partnering experience
* Good communication/interpersonal and influencing skills
* A flexible and open to change mindset and proactive approach
