Deputy Head of Tax (In-house, Real Estate Investment Trust)

One of the UK’s largest and most well-known REITs are looking for a Deputy Head of Tax (Direct Tax focused) to head up a talented in-house team of Direct Tax professionals. The group is steeped in history and has a complex portfolio of operations, leading to the creation of this meaty requisition. This role will be 2-3 days in the office (London-based)

Responsibilities:

- Lead on Direct Tax projects including M&A due diligence, post-transaction structuring, legal entity rationalisation/simplification
- Lead a team of one Manager and two Tax Accountants on CT compliance and reporting
- Manage Tax Audits
- Review Tax forecasting
- Deputise for the Head of Tax when interfacing with the business
- Owning Advisor and Authority relationships

Requirements

- You will ideally be ACA and/or CTA qualified with Direct Tax training within a Big 4 or Top Tier practice
- Extensive experience of leading on Direct Tax projects
- Experience of CT compliance and reporting
- Experience of Real Estate would be a benefit but is not a prerequisite, given the current Head of Tax’ RE background this can be upskilled
- Strong communication and project management skills are an absolute must
