There is a new and exciting opportunity for a seasoned Transfer Pricing Senior Manager to join the newly formed and expanding Global Tax team at the UK (Reading) headquarters. Working as part of a world-class finance function supported by talent located in key geographical countries, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to excellence in both process and performance working alongside senior leaders in tax and transfer pricing.
Our client is undergoing significant transformation in the way that it does business and goes to market, while looking to significantly invest in R&D and new technology. These changes, combined with the ever-developing tax landscape, mean that the tax team needs to be able to support and drive the implementation of these changes.
This Operational Transfer Pricing Senior Manager role will support and report to the newly appointed Director of TP, focusing on operational TP and supporting global TP planning, spanning all related party transactions. The role requires an innovative tax professional with an ability to manage multiple projects and engage with senior stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Focusing on the design and implementation of a best practice operational TP framework.
Manage operational transfer pricing for all inter-company transactions, including HQ recharges, target margins for distributors and manufacturers, price setting for all related party product sales, royalty streams, service charges and all other applicable related party TP adjustments.
Play a leading role in the roll out of finance transformation in the group, ensuring the new operational TP processes are carefully managed.
Play a key role in all TP audits, working with other members of Global Tax and local finance, analysing quantum of risk and potential remedies.
Take the lead in preparing the Master File and TP Reports for the Group’s Core Entities (UK, USA, Denmark, and Switzerland) as well as preparing and reviewing, with your direct report the Operational TP Analyst
In conjunction with the Director of Transfer Pricing, you will work with the Director of Strategic Taxes and Transfer Pricing Senior Manager Strategic Taxes supporting the implementation of the centrally led operating model change projects. You will further assist with providing operational TP support to business development, M&A, corporate restructurings and other commercial initiatives.
Your role will be global, and you will assist with engaging external tax advisers, internal stakeholders and peers. You will proactively engage with the business and gather an in-depth understanding of the value drivers & supports and influences senior stakeholders in the operational TP issues relating to the design, execution and implementation of complex business transactions. You will have strong entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving, demonstrating confident ability to influence wide range of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivator and able to work quickly and efficiently to get the job done. You will be a change agent and trusted business partner, leading from the front and engaging with all relevant team members and stakeholders.
Additional attributes include:
Transfer Pricing/Tax qualification, ACA / CTA qualified or other relevant professional qualification
7-10+ years wholly dedicated transfer pricing experience preferably focusing on operational TP with exposure to complex advisory and global transfer pricing projects. Big 4 accounting experience and/or extensive experience in-house TP experience with a large multi-national required.
Knowledge of recent developments in OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and BEPS and preferably knowledge of recent developments in the UK, US, Switzerland and Denmark.
Familiarity with accounting for income taxes.
Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong Excel skills.
Experience with TP technology and automation tools.
