Employment Tax Specialist, BBC, London (flexible working)

Job Introduction

The BBC’s employment tax landscape is complex, requiring expert assessment and judgement of a range of high profile circumstances including advising on appropriate arrangements for on-air talent and artists and contributors.

We’re now seeking an Employment Tax Specialist to join the BBC, on a 6 month fixed term basis, to work closely with and support the Finance Business Partner for Employment Tax.

Role Responsibility

Providing support to the Employment Tax Business Partner with a particular emphasis on Employment Status, IR35 and Off-Payroll working, to include tax technical and data analysis to support employment tax reporting; communication (verbal and written) with the business and HMRC; providing updates to both the Head of Tax and the Employment Tax Business Partner.

Are you the right candidate?

You will be a Tax professional with a methodical approach and strong analytical and communication skills. You will have a good grasp of Employment Tax legislation, with the ability to apply IR35 and self-employed tax rules to diverse and often unique situations. These situations can be complex, and it is important that you are able to take these technical principles and explain them coherently to stakeholders that have no knowledge of our tax landscape.

Prior experience in providing employment tax advice in an in-house role would be highly beneficial, although not a pre-requisite, as would be being either ATT or CTA qualified, or able to demonstrate a similar level of practical experience.
