International Tax Adviser

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Tax Adviser to join a dynamic team in a multi-national, growth-oriented organization. This position will play a significant role in managing tax across many jurisdictions, and will include some travel. It will require someone with a strong tax technical background, commercial mindset, good communication skills and external reporting experience. As the business continues its growth, the International Tax Adviser will work with the Tax Director and broader team on transactions; structuring; transfer pricing; tax planning/risk management; and US reform while also managing day to day requirements.

Responsibilities include:

* Provision of tax advisory work across the group, which will include working with the Tax Director on projects including, but not limited to, due diligence, the acquisition and disposal of entities and subsequent structuring, recapitalisation of companies, corporate restructuring, tax efficient financing, etc;
* Responsibility for quarterly US GAAP reporting, review of reporting tax packs, and working with US based colleagues to do so;
* Take on a UK compliance review role while acting as a liaison between finance team and external UK advisors, who look after outsourced compliance;
* Coordination of overseas tax compliance work to ensure it is done on a timely basis which will involve dealing with overseas advisers and finance managers;
* Assistance with a transfer pricing policy review project across the group which will involve liaison with overseas tax advisors;
* Responsibility for dealing with tax audit enquiries and providing assistance to overseas finance managers and advisers in relation to overseas tax audits;
* Ad hoc advisory around VAT and employment tax queries in relevant jurisdictions;
* Travel to Group head office to work with US based tax team in relation to US tax reform;
* Jurisdictions include: Europe, MEAI, APAC, LATAM, US & Canada.

Requirements:

* Tax accounting, external reporting experience under UK GAAP, IFRS or US GAAP;
* Prior experience of working in industry or an accounting firm with international exposure;
* Technically competent and familiar with UK tax legislation with some cross-border experience;
* Experience of working in/with a fast paced, international business;
* Have strong Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel;
* Strong communication skills and a track record of delivering to agreed timetables;
* Ability to manage various internal and external stakeholders, build relationships and establish trust;
* Fluent in English, other language skills would be useful but not essential;
* Degree educated with a tax/accounting background (professional accounting and/or qualification such as ICAS, ICAEW, CTA, ACCA etc. (ADIT would be a plus).
