Tax Manager, Front Office Support, Planning & Advisory

This UK retail bank is looking for a qualified tax adviser to join their direct tax advisory team in London. Reporting into the team's senior manager, the tax specialist will be providing tax support and advice to all tranches of the business on corporate, withholding and transaction taxes. A broad role working on complex transactions, disposals, securitisations and reputational risk issues.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review sign offs on market transactions and new products
* Advise on group restructuring transactions and queries relating to market standard agreements
* Attending industry tax forums
* Liaising with other teams, e.g. VAT, transfer pricing, legal, finance, internal and external auditors
* Provide operational tax support
* Assessing tax risk with senior managers
* Monitoring tax compliance for franchises
* Manage and advise on tax sign offs
* Embed effective and efficient tax controls
* Implement policy and testing
* Documentation of processes

Skills / Experience
* Chartered Tax Adviser, Chartered Accountant, Lawyer or equivalent
* UK Corporate Tax experience
* A preference for financial services experience
* Familiar with Microsoft Office products
* Able to liaise effectively and manage relationships with a diverse range of customers and colleagues and to communicate confidently and persuasively
* Good commercial awareness
* Able to act flexibly and practically to solve problems
* Able to manage relationships within Tax and Front Office colleagues
