Your new organisation is a long-standing and leading independent Chartered Accountancy firm which provides comprehensive tax and accountancy services to a variety of businesses across a range of sectors throughout the country, from sole traders to large corporates. Given internal developments and dramatic growth, Hays is partnered with the firm to seek an accomplished tax professional who will over time, depending upon their present level, progress within the firm up to the real possibility of taking on the position of Tax Partner.

Your new role
As the Tax Manager initially, you will support all the partners in relation to both Corporate and Personal Tax. This will include handling mixed portfolios consisting of small to medium sized business and a reasonable number of "Private Clients". Ultimately, you will manage the Tax Department and VAT Department consisting of approximately 10 individuals across multiple offices. You will meet with caseworkers on a regular basis, ensuring the systems are efficient, fit for purpose and deliver quality compliance. Within this, you will also lead/arrange training, which is carried out by a combination of external courses and internal seminars. Further to this you will provide corporate assistance by reviewing corporation tax computations and implementing tax planning ideas. Providing invaluable tax knowledge to the financial planning element to the organisation will also feature. In addition, you will be encouraged to attract clients and build a caseload which you will be responsible for.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a talented tax professional who is CTA qualified with over 5 years experience working within a reputable tax function. Strong technical knowledge and experience across all taxes, both personal and corporate, is required, including VAT, IHT and LBTT. Given the scope for progression, you will demonstrate ambition, leadership skills and the ability to learn efficiently. Further to this, as a business developer, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
