Fast growing team – Tax Senior Manager – Energy and Natural Resources

A Big 4 firm is looking to expand its team and are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Energy and Natural resources group of their Corporate tax function.
This role is both advisory and compliance, advisory assignments will be wide ranging and include a mix of international, M&A and other ad hoc advisory work, the successful candidate can be based in either London or Aberdeen.

The team provides corporate tax advisory, compliance and accounting services to a range of clients across all lines of the sector including oil and gas, mining, power and renewables. Clients include FTSE 100 companies, inbound investors, oil majors and independents.
This team focuses on high quality commercial advice to their clients and their approach has as its foundation a thorough understanding of our clients’ business strategy as well as the industry in which they operate.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing tax advisory services to a variety of clients and managing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice to a variety of clients
• Liaising with client services team and with colleagues in other tax disciplines as well as the audit and accounting function to provide a coordinated service to the client
• Reviewing corporation tax computations and managing the compliance process and providing tax specialist support to audits for clients under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
• Helping to prepare proposals for new work, including researching target and client companies and on technical issues to identify new solutions
• Ensuring clients are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their business

Key skills and qualifications:

• Experience of working with Energy and Natural resources companies including upstream oil sector preferable
• Strong knowledge and understanding of UK corporation tax legislation
• ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent
• Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear
• Builds the firms reputations through quality of work, knowledge and experience
