Director - UK Tax, Global Media Company, London

A well-known global media company, with an excellent brand name are seeking a Director - UK Tax to join their in-house tax function, based in London, reporting to the VP of International Tax.

Key responsibilities include:

* Manage and direct the tax compliance/tax reporting function (ASC 740) for the group, including all Corporate Tax returns, Tax Treaty filings and Employer Compliance matters including UK statutory reporting of the above items. Ensure UK 5471s are completed annually
* Manage and direct tax audits for UK companies
* Coordinate with VP International Tax to develop and implement tax plan for UK entities that will result in the continuous improvement in the UK effective income tax and cash tax rates. Tax planning activities to include transfer pricing analysis /documentation, tax impact of acquisitions, dispositions and tax analysis of on-going operations
* Coordinate with CFOs and Controllers to ensure that tax reporting/compliance are in accordance with company standards
* Establish and manage ongoing model for tax payment forecasting
* Work closely with other teams, assisting them where required using accounting and auditing background

Requirements:

* Undergraduate Degree or equivalent
* Chartered Accountant
* 2-3 years post qualification tax experience (UK)
* Some exposure to US tax an advantage
* Good technical and communication (written and oral) skills; must be proactive in developing tax planning strategies
* Ability to manage and direct UK projects
