Glasgow Based Tax Consultant Opportunity

Your new company
This international consulting firm offers a wide range of services but mainly specialises in tax relief for companies carrying out research and development. They are currently in the market for a Tax Consultant to join their technical team in Glasgow, as a result of rapid growth in Scotland.

Your new role
The organisation is in the market for an experienced Tax Accountant to join the technical team, and work closely with engineers, software developers and scientists to establish tax relief owing to the business as a result of innovation. You will work with an interesting portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries, acting as first point of contact. You will investigate to identify R&D projects that qualify for tax relief, and draft technical reports to reflect this. Continuous liaison with clients will be standard and therefore, you will have excellent communication / client management skills. Once established, you will prepare R&D tax calculations and file with HMRC on behalf of the client.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have solid experience in UK corporation tax compliance and a background of dealing with R&D tax relief and HMRC would be ideal. A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CTA or ATT is also preferred. Candidates who have academic backgrounds in science or technology would also be considered.

What you'll get in return
The job will pay a competitive salary, and commission based on output. The right candidate will have the opportunity to progress within an organisation that has a "promote from within" mentality. Benefits include a contributory pension, private healthcare, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, flexible working and a genuine chance to significantly increase your overall earnings.
