VAT Accountant - EMEA, Kent

Our client, a market-leading global events management corporation, has a vacancy for a VAT Accountant to join their business in Kent. Working closely with the group's tax and finance teams, this is a key role at the company's shared service centre.

VAT Accountant role:

* Support the EMEA VAT manager with internal & external VAT audits & ad-hoc projects
* Sole responsibility for maintaining & clearing VAT general ledgers ensuring integrity and accuracy of accounts for management
* Reconcile VAT & statistical returns to each other and the balance sheet
* Responsible for preparing the monthly group tax management reporting reconciliations for VAT GLs across the EMEA for Group Finance colleagues
* Prepare reconciliations of P&L sales revenue to VAT reported revenue on a quarterly basis
* Produce accurate periodic UK VAT Group & EMEA VAT registration returns and declarations
* Create & post VAT journals to the balance sheet & approve postings by Group Finance
* Business partner with accounting functions in management

The ideal candidate will be part/fully qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, VAT Accountant. Previous finance accounting experience is critical. In addition, circa 2-3 years VAT compliance is a pre-requisite.
