To work as part of Group Tax in providing a range of tax services to this international insurance group. The role is expected to be 3 days per week with some flexibility.
Duties
Tax reporting
* Preparation of IFRS tax provisions and disclosures for quarterly group reporting and legal entity statutory accounts.
UK corporation tax
* Preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns and claims.
* Calculation of the quarterly payments on account.
Overseas corporation tax
* Preparation and submission of US and Canadian tax related information to Lloyd's.
* Liaising with overseas tax advisers on overseas corporation tax compliance, including Gibraltar.
Indirect taxes
* Providing assistance to the indirect taxes consultant as required on VAT and IPT compliance.
Other Taxes
* Assist the business with FATCA/CRS compliance.
Projects
* Providing assistance to Group Tax on ad hoc projects as required.
Background
* Qualified accountant, formally or by experience.
* Insurance industry or financial services industry experience is preferred.
* Ability to resolve issues and problems with minimum supervision.
* A flexible style of working with the ability to focus on ad hoc project work as and when required, prioritise and ensure delivery of quality output.
