IT Software Engineering Manager - R&D Tax - London - Up to £75k

You will be joining a top tier accountancy firm in their leading tax function. As part of the wider Business Tax Advisory group of this Big 4 firm, the R&D tax team are a successful, growing team with a high profile client base. Your new role
Working closely with the senior IT engineers within the electronic engineering and software sector, you will be responsible for analysing how the R&D tax team deliver R&D tax relief claims. Responsibilities include interviewing clients' senior technical staff in order to develop an understanding of the technical aspects of projects undertaken. You will also manage client relationships and be involved in many projects as a team member and a leader. You will also be responsible for writing technical project reports describing the technological objectives, advancements and uncertainties of client projects, to support the R&D claim. The team you will be working with specialise in major Financial Services clients therefore, you will be responsible for high quality delivery of advice and solutions to major Financial Services clients, ensuring management of risk and reputation. You will produce project budgets and timetables that are efficient and cost effective, tracking and maintaining the status of client engagements and pursuits
What you'll need to succeed
You will not need prior R&D tax knowledge for this role - just passion to learn it as you will learn this on the job. You must hold strong, broad technical industry knowledge and hands-on experience in the Financial Services IT, software or high-technology sectors. You must hold at least a bachelors (preferably masters) in either electronic engineering or computer science). You must have technical expertise in your discipline and understanding the commercial/technical issues faced in the Financial Service sector. You must be able to provide evidence of managing a team and working closely with external suppliers. It is important you have excellent report writing, communication, interview skills and presenting ability

The salary for this role is from £60,000 up to £75,000 dependant upon experience.
