This is an excellent role to gain exposure in a broad range of tax disciplines:
Assisting the tax team with the planning and structuring of real estate transactions and managing ad-hoc tax issues, including:
* Joint Venture and Fund structuring
* Holding company and financing structures
* Advising on acquisition, holding and exit implications of real estate projects with specific consideration of taxes on income and gains, VAT and transfer taxes
* Tax review of financial models
* Preparation of tax sections of investment proposals
* Managing tax due diligence processes including analysis of identified risks, negotiating warranties and indemnities, tax review of legal agreements (including sales and purchase agreements, loan agreements)
* Cash repatriation planning
* Liaising with deal and fund teams
Transfer Pricing
* Assistance with various aspects of transfer pricing including advice on financing arrangements and real estate and management services; coordinating with advisers to prepare bench-marking studies, functional analyses and transfer pricing reports; coordination with local teams to ensure transfer pricing documentation requirements are met
Tax compliance
* Oversight of compliance for all European UK and overseas entities
* Devising and implementing mechanisms for managing compliance risk (all corporate tax compliance is outsourced to external advisors)
* Providing input as required to country controllers on key risk items
* Assisting with tax audits as required
Other
* Dealing with ad-hoc VAT issues and questions
* Preparing and updating country tax technical summaries
* Monitoring tax law changes and communicating the business impact tax team members
