Responsibilities:
*Provide planning and advisory service for a portfolio of complex clients and being involved with enquiry case work.
*Review completed tax returns and sign off non-advisory letters and emails for junior team members.
*Understand client needs and communicate with them in layman's terms
*Review WIP on a weekly basis. Oversee billing arrangements for a portfolio of clients including reviewing fee proposals, agreeing fees with partners / clients, issuing fees and debt collection
*Responsible for day-to-day staff planning, ensuring the right level of technically qualified staff are assigned to the appropriate cases
*Manage and delegate to staff of a suitable level and provide technical support. Ensure junior staff complete work within allocated timescales and to the standard required. Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets
*Understand key issues on all cases handled by the team in order to answer any internal/external enquiries. In addition keep abreast of all ongoing assignments within the department
*Assist other team members in providing technical solutions to client problems and issues and generally support cross-discipline advice
*Build good working relationships with internal and external clients, maximising cross selling opportunities
*Suggest ideas and concepts for inclusion in marketing and training initiatives
*Keep up to date with relevant legislation
Attributes, requirements & skills:
*Qualified ATT desirable
*Qualified CTA desirable or qualified by experience
*Extensive relevant experience, gained in a similar tax accounting
*Previous experience of Alphatax, Pertax, Sectax
*Able to meet deadlines, multi task and work under pressure with accuracy and focus
*Competent at using MS Office; Word and Excel
