Are you looking for an exciting opportunity within an ambitious firm? If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Business Tax Department. Within this role you will provide support to other members of the department on VAT compliance.

Your duties will include:

· Researching and responding to queries raised by tax authorities, the HMRC within the UK and varied tax governing bodies across Europe
· Send information requests on a monthly basis, posting VAT journals, calculating VAT and ensuring adequate time is given to clients and time to prepare
· Liaise with clients regarding VAT payments or repayment, informing them of value to pay/refund
· Provide basic VAT consultancy to clients on various matters
· Preparation and submission of various VAT related documents to HMRC for example, applications for VAT registration and deregistration
· Drafting VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat declarations for other members of the team
· Deal with HMRC and client correspondence enquiries
· Complete billing and general administrative duties as requested
· Completing Know Your Client tasks for clients and for those of more senior members of the team
· Provide support to colleagues within the VAT team and other stakeholders across the business
· Undertake technical training and development in VAT

· Working towards a VAT qualification is desirable, however not essential
· Competent using MS Office
