Tax Manager for Global Commodities Trading House

A global commodity trading house is looking for a high calibre tax manager to join their small but experienced in-house tax department. The job holder will be responsible for leading the Compliance and Reporting function across the group.

Main Responsibilities

* Coordinating month end, quarter end and the year-end group tax reporting process.
* Liaise with external auditors with regards to Group tax audit sign-off.
* Become an expert in the group accounting and reporting system software (Navision/Cognos) in order to assist origins with tax reporting.
* Review actual tax results versus expected.
* Liaise with internal finance departments and business units.
* Undertake a limited amount of UK tax compliance activities and coordinate with external advisors.
* Other ad hoc tax queries and provide tax advice internally as required.
* Ensure group maintains intercompany agreements to reflect the above.
* Involvement in overseas tax planning and project implementation

Candidate Profile

* ACA qualified.
* Detailed understanding on International Accounting Standards and UK GAAP as they impact tax reporting.
* Experience of cross border transactions is essential.
* Experience of corporate restructuring advantageous.
* Experience of physical commodity traders/supply chain management preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with other central functions
* Self-motivated and able to carry through varied projects to a satisfactory conclusion
* Interest and ability to learn new areas of tax and new developments in tax legislation
* Diligent with excellent delivery focus.
* Understands and appreciates the need for process disciplines and controls.
