A professional services firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax Associate for a great Senior-level opportunity with their staff. In this role, the Senior Tax Associate will be primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual, trust, partnership, nonprofit, S-corporate, C-corporate, and foreign tax returns.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Tax Associate will:
• Run client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
• Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews; perform in-charge role as needed
• Review tax returns done by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
• Prepare tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients
• Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities

REQUIRED SKILLS
• 3+ years of progressive Tax return preparation and Compliance experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Strong Tax Accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, Tax Compliance, Corporate Consolidated Returns, Consolidated Federal Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and Combined State Tax Returns
• Working knowledge of ProSystems and CCH
• Microsoft Office/Suite proficient
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
