Group Tax Director - International, London to £120k + bonus and pension

Exclusively assigned to Nebula Partners. This global corporate has an international hub servicing the rest of the world, based in Central London. In recent years its model has adapted to reshape core client products. Reporting directly to the CFO for Europe & ASPAC, you will work closely with the Global Tax Director in the US, and personally lead a team of three. Your team will responsible for the tax affairs of commercial operations in over thirty countries. As Tax Director for what is essentially the rest of the world, you will oversee UK corporate tax compliance (small number of entities), international tax accounting (under USGAAP) and cross border issues. Furthermore, you will work with the CFO on treasury projects and collaborate with the Americas businesses on global tax issues including; transfer pricing, tax risk strategy, tax technology and planning.

Key duties:

Review of US GAAP ASC 740 quarterly and annual reporting tax packs received from Europe and Asia-Pacific companies
Oversee all Europe and Asia-Pacific tax including corporate tax, VAT and payroll taxes
Oversee all Europe and Asia-Pacific tax issues arising from having a European holding company structure, including Country by Country reporting and other BEPS related legislative changes
Ensure systems are in place to monitor compliance with statutory obligations for tax across Europe and Asia-Pacific
Identify and implement opportunities to manage the group’s cash tax expense taking into consideration tax impacts to the US parent group and working closely with the US tax team
Provide tax advice for Europe and Asia-Pacific acquisitions, restructurings and divestitures
Mitigate tax risk throughout the group and oversee all tax controversies/audits
Review all UK group companies Corporate Tax Return filings and the tax numbers and disclosures for the UK statutory accounts
Directly manage all HMRC correspondence and tax audits related to the UK tax group
Oversee the in-house tax team of 2 employees and assist in their tax technical development
Manage relationships with external advisors and financial statement auditors
Work closely with Finance, including treasury and accounting personnel to mitigate tax risks associated with cash transfers among the group and transfer pricing documentation.
Communicate effectively with CFO and US tax team regarding tax risk and opportunities within the Group

About you:
ACA / CTA /ADIT qualified
International tax advisory experience, preferably Europe & ASPAC
Direct tax background with some TP, indirect and or employment taxes exposure
Tax accounting – USGAAP knowledge preferred
Big 4 trained with commercial in-house track record
Proven project and time management skills
Need ability to interact and communicate in plain language with a multitude of departments (Finance, HR, Legal, Operations and Treasury).
