Private Client Tax Manager / Assistant Manager, Edinburgh

An opportunity has arisen in the highly successful central belt private client tax team of this renowned Big 4 firm, based in Edinburgh. This is an interesting advisory focused position which would be ideally suited to an experienced private client specialist.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the delivery of a high quality personal tax service to client
• Managing a portfolio of complex cases, including partnerships
• Provide advice on a wide range of private client issues including inheritance tax, CGT etc
• Identify opportunities to advise clients in your portfolio
• Apply original and creative thinking to the creation of bespoke tax solutions on one-off assignments
• Project manage tax advisory assignment to ensure deadlines are met and risk/compliance procedures are adhered to
• Manage WIP and ensure prompt billing and cash collection
• Oversee the performance and development of a small team of junior staff.

Qualification and skills required:

• Qualified tax advisor or accountant (ATT/CTA/CA/ACCA) with experience of working in a practice environment with exposure to varied personal tax advisory assignments
• Strong academic record coupled with excellent tax technical knowledge
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively at all levels with clients, other professional advisor and colleagues
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a strong team player.
