Funds Tax Manager

A leading global privately owned Investment Management business are seeking a Funds Tax Manager to set up a new internal tax function!
The business manage and advise US$55bn in Europe, North America and Asia. The company, which is majority-owned by its employees, keeps an entrepreneurial feel at its heart and delivers investment performance to its investors.
The role: Funds Tax Manager
As Funds Tax Manager you will sit in the middle office working as part of the funds of funds and private debt team.
This is a new advisory role that has been created to support the business on the tax implications of their global funds with a focus on UK & US investors. You will be reporting into the Head of Middle office but will also have dotted reporting lines around the business.
As this is a new role for the business you will be the first person in-house for tax and will be given full autonomy to develop the role and potentially grow a team when suitable.
Specific Responsibilities
* Staying up to date and communicating relevant changes in tax regimes globally in relation to the groups funds
* Working closely with the middle and front office teams to address issues as and when they arise
* Implement and develop processes and systems
* Document all product related tax procedures
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and senior management promoting tax awareness across the business.
* Ad hoc projects
Technical Requirements
* Experience of working for a financial services business or working in a private practise for financial services clients.
* Strong tax advisory background
* Must have a good knowledge of US and UK tax (any international experience is beneficial)
* Understanding of funds and the tax implications
* CTA or ACA qualified
* Experience of advising and reporting to key stakeholders across the business.
* Experience of setting up an in-house tax function would be beneficial
