Reporting to the Group Financial Controller (GFC) the primary function of the Group Tax Manager is to ensure compliance for the UK&I Group of companies across corporate tax, VAT and employment taxes and the accurate forecasting and reporting of tax information to internal and external recipients. You will also act as a business partner to the Central Service functions and the wider business providing advice and support relating to taxes. This could be answering ad-hoc questions relating to customer and supplier queries, providing training to back and front office teams and identifying opportunities & risks. You will be responsible for the management of a part time Employment Taxes Manager.

You will be responsible for the following key areas:

* The preparation and filing of UK corporate tax returns and preparation of supporting information
* This includes consideration of capital allowances, effective group relief and loss utilisation, estimation of Quarterly Instalment Payments for UK Group etc.
* Ensuring compliance with UK based international tax obligations e.g. CFC regime, transfer pricing (including upcoming BEPS changes), double taxation etc.
* Oversight of corporate tax compliance for Irish and other overseas subsidiaries, liaising with local advisors to ensure returns are submitted and taxes paid
* Preparation of tax provisions for US GAAP group reporting including current and deferred tax accounts, FIN 48, ETR forecasts and return to provision reconciliations
* Preparation of local statutory accounts notes for current and deferred tax under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and reconciliation to group reporting figures under US GAAP
* Respond to queries raised by the Group Tax Accounting team
* Preparation, review and submission of UK and Ireland VAT returns and related filings
* Assistance with UK employment tax filings, including PSA and share scheme reporting
* Work with Financial Shared Services to promote compliance and best practice in respect of VAT
* As a subject matter expert you will be expected to provide regular guidance to the CFO and Executive Board on compliance and commercial related matters
* Ensuring the Adecco UK&I Group is in line with the global Group's policies and any issues are communicated to the Group Tax Team
* Manage relationship with HMRC, including managing tax audits for the UK and Irish companies
* Manage external advisors to obtain the best advice with maximum efficiency
* Review internal controls for the purpose of the SAO and other regulations and preparation of SAO documentation
* Continuous evaluation of all UK processes, activities, policies, business practices and transactions in order to ensure continued tax compliance
* Keep abreast of tax developments across all areas and business changes and advise the business accordingly
* Work closely and develop strong relationships with Finance teams across London and BBP including Brands, Treasury, MI, Financial Control and Shared Services
* Ad-hoc duties and special projects as requested

This is a highly visible role with significant exposure within the Group including Executive Board and other senior management.
