Tax Risk, Disputes and Investigations (TRDI) Associate.
Our client, a respected Private Client Law Firm based in London, seeks a Tax Risk, Disputes and Investigations Associate to join their Private Capital Group. The work of the group involves advising clients in relation to:
* HMRC enquiries and tax investigations.
* Code of Practice 8&9 and criminal investigations.
* Large tax disputes.
* Offshore tax matters.
* Corporate tax structuring and re-structuring.
The role will include;
* Drafting and completing disclosure reports for HMRC and for clients.
* Undertaking detailed tax analysis.
* Meeting HMRC and client deadlines.
* Analysing tax planning and business structures to identify risks/opportunities.
* Providing expert technical tax advice, particularly in relation to management of tax issues.
* Undertaking detailed tax forensic work.
*Analysing and interpreting complex financial statements and accounting practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Tax Partner; will have 1-2 years' experience, ideally including tax investigation work and be a Chartered Tax Adviser; (CTA) or have a relevant accounting qualification and desire to undertake their CTA exams in the coming years.
They will have excellent academic qualifications and have received good quality training and experience to date. The successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure, have a desire to take individual responsibility and handle things on their own from an early stage. They must be able to think and act independently but know when to ask for help and take instruction. They will need to be confident, sociable and self-motivated with common sense and welcome direct exposure to clients. They will be expected to take an active interest and role in marketing and business development both for the group and across the firm.
