Group Head of Tax - Publishing Group, Oxford/ Hybrid, to £150k

JSS Search have been engaged by a global publishing business looking to recruit a Group Head of Tax to join their Oxford office.

Responsibilities:

● Maintain the relevancy of their tax policies
● Present biannual reports to the Group Audit Committee.
● Safeguard tax exemptions by vigilantly monitoring internal and external developments and ensuring adherence to local regulations.
● Offer practical, technical guidance to the organisation on structuring new business ventures, such as sales agreements and corporate frameworks.
● Identify and propose mitigation strategies for global tax risks while overseeing the resolution of major tax matters alongside local management.
● Ensure compliance with local tax regulations across all group entities.
● Handle UK corporation tax filings and address queries from HMRC, as well as any necessary non-resident tax returns.
● Foster a culture of excellence within the team, facilitating growth and development.

Qualifications:

● ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified Tax specialist is ideal
● Extensive expertise in UK and International Taxation.
● Ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
● Experience in managing challenging situations while maintaining strong professional relationships.
● Strong commercial acumen and business understanding.
● Familiarity with the publishing industry is advantageous.

This is a hybrid role, 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
